I have been applying nail polish since I was a kid. Matching ones with my dress was always the last moment rush.
I also had a nail polish remover in my dressing table. Lakme mostly, used to clean my nails before school re-opened after every vacation.

Has anyone ever seen a nail polish remover ad anywhere? I don't recall. But every woman who buys a nail polish, has a remover.
Not sure if there is a term called silent marketing, but this is one such product which has survived for years just by direct marketing at retail level. The product utility makes it an imperishable category.
Silent product bundling, promoted solely by retailers.
When the need is unique, product ad spends can be minimal.
Food for thought!
