Image or text ad?

I am giving discount on my online gift store. I have a great collection. I want to promote this discount on Google.

Am wondering if a shopping image ad in Google search would drive more traffic than a sponsored text ad?

Anything that needs to be seen properly before making a purchase decision generally goes well with shopping ads in Google search.

But here is the catch!

Am I pitching my products or the discount?

How will I show my product variety?

What if someone searches for a gift pendent and the shopping ad only shows gift mugs or photo frames?

A sponsored text ad gives you the chance to mention the discount upfront along with the names of the various products.
