The swimwear market has evolved over years in India. While bikini seems to be too bold, the new combo of dress plus bikini has emerged a winner. It's not very bold, it looks nice with various prints and colours and successfully maintains the swimwear dress code.
What has really changed ? With women empowerment arose the desire to be equal is every field. The new independent generation wanted it all. So from the very bold bikini style swimwear to the ones that looked casual, lingerie designers used their creativity and made swimwear a more acceptable dress code.
Marketing has always been a reflection of changing behaviors. How was this marketed? Well, when you catch the pulse of the new gen, marketing just remains word of mouth. The biggest underrated marketing medium that has proved itself through test of time.
Is poduct innovation different from marketing? Well then let me ask is Steve Jobs a product developer or marketer? PC to mac?
