Hair oil with body touch...

Updated: 6 days ago

Well it feels not a bit trendy when I tell everyone I use coconut oil in my body instead of a body lotion. The bottle kept on my dressing table often dismisses my ‘wow factor’ as all the branded cosmetics stay hidden in my make-up box.

The softness of Parachute coconut oil on my skin, the non sticky feel and the natural shine it gives to my arms and legs is too precious for me to discard it and try something new.

Trust you me, not once but twice daily!

This usage behaviour of mine has often made me wonder if a non-promoted benefit of a product can actually lead to building a loyal customer.

Where did this idea emerge from? Well, obviously my mother. The assumed ancient usage benefit that Parachute doesn’t really talk about.

Should a brand with such a silent benefit across a large customer base change it’s key selling proposition? A hair oil is meant to be applied on hair, isn’t that obvious?

Why should the high brand recall in the hair oil category be disturbed ? Well, as a marketer I have always believed that there has to be a unique solution to every problem. The solution here I feel is launching a sub-brand with a similar composition as a body lotion. The abstract of hair oil can now be felt on the skin as well.

Food for some thought!
