Are Gen Z impulsive buyers?

Gen Z take more time to consider buying a product compared to millenials.

Few things that has resulted in this:

As they were exposed to social media while growing up, the platform hardly excites them.

By the time they started selecting clothes or gadgets on ecom, the focus was more on the product rather than the app or shopping experience.

Growing up in a digital era where reviews and feedback have become important and awareness about multiple brands is high, the urge to check out the top two ecom sites before purchase has become normal.

Gen Z understand being in the company of like-minded people. Their groups have become smaller and the topics of discussion wider. Again, born in the digital era.

Education for them was not restricted to text books. Digital content and online classes has taught them overtime that internet is a good source of information.

Impulse buying is a result of excitement. Millenials are time pressed. Gen Z have both the time and knowledge. Considering their life is more structured, longer buying behaviour works well for them.

It will be interesting to see if Gen Z when joins work and life changes, follows the existing millenial league or not.
